April 17, 2020, BURLINGTON – The Canadian Sim Racing Series (CSRS) roars to life Sunday, May 3rd live on GForceTV.net and XXXQuebec. The virtual car races will stream every Sunday in the month of May live in both English and French featuring elite racing talent.
The concept is co-sanctioned by Quebec racing promoter Jason Labrosse and Ontario natives Clinton Geoffrey and Adam Ross. Their goal is to connect Canada’s top racers to compete on a level playing field.
“We have a unique opportunity in motorsports to host real races in a virtual setting,” said Ross. “We have created a five-race series to challenge drivers in multiple disciplines.”
The iRacing series will open at Auto Club Speedway on May 3, with future stops at Charlotte Motor Speedway May 10th, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park May 17th, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve May 24th and Atlanta Motor Speedway May 31st.
“Registration will open next week online,” said Labrosse. “Our qualifying races will feature talent from all over. Only the best will compete in our championship events.”
Drivers will compete in B Series NASCAR stock cars (Xfinity Series) with identical set-ups. Driving talent and pit strategy will determine the outcomes.
“The feedback has been amazing,” said Geoffrey. “When registration opens next Tuesday, April 21st, I expect we will be flooded with drivers wanting to race against the best.”
Alex Labbe, Gary Klutt, Kevin Lacroix, and many other recognizable Canadian racing names have expressed their intention to compete for the inaugural CSRS title.
